Half a boat is better than no boat at all:
The work is aleotoric - or 'chance' music. Formed from a basic outline of two MIDI streams from Harmony Bloom and Rhythmiser each triggering separate Moog Mother 32s. They were set up as as Discrete Music-like slow attack enveloped brass patches. Additional sound sources were integrated, an Erica Fusion valve VCO and EoWave Weather Drones. Then the fun started! Instruo Ochd (8x LFOs) were patched in to the Erica, Weather Drones and a filter which the Erica was routed via. The whole lot was routed through Qu-Bit Mojave (when was also modulated heavily by Ochd and other utilities). I just kept patching until the cables ran out. The result is a lush angular soundscape one work in two parts. I changed settings around for part two.
The image in the cover art is of half a boat stranded in the mud on Roa Island - a peninsula near Barrow in Furness, Cumbria. I remain puzzled why the dismemberment was abandoned, as it clearly was. That sense of absurdity is borne out in the title of this work.
